What did you before coming to Trident?
So, I have two children, 15 and 8. I work full-time and so does my husband. Both of my parents live with us and they are not in the best of health so it can be a big time consumption for us. A couple of months ago I had dropped my son off at practice and brought my daughter to gymnastics. She was working out four hours a week, he had practice five days a week. I was sitting there watching my daughter during her gymnastics class and eating a bag of potato chips and I looked down and said to myself what the heck am I doing. I am encouraging my children to be active and healthy, to eat right and here I am eating a bag of potato chips. I realized then that I was that Mom, do as I say, not as I do and I did not want to be that person.
What results have you seen at Trident?
I realized that I needed a change and become a better example for my kids. I saw my friend’s Jens video I decided to come in and give it a try. Since then I have noticed that my migraines are gone, I sleep better, I have more energy, my back pain is gone and its all from making the time and commitment to be a better person, to be healthier and to be a better example for my children.
They say the hardest part is walking through the door, what brought you to Trident and what was your experience like when you first started?
My girlfriend Jen had posted a video about the grand opening of the gym and I watched it and said that looks really cool and I want to try it. I came a couple of days later, tried my first class and absolutely loved it. I loved that there was a lot of support during the class. There were modifications, a lot of focus on proper technique rather than picking the heaviest weight so you didn’t get hurt. I left the gym with so much energy, I left feeling great and came back the very next day and signed up, that was it. My first class I could barely do a lunge, everything hurt and I just pushed myself and was encouraged by Vicki and the other girls in the class. I couldn’t do a burpee so instead of that I did walk outs because they were easier with less stress on my body until I was able to progress to doing burpees.
Why would you recommend Trident to friends or family?
I would recommend Trident to friends and family because the workouts are amazing, the results are there…you just have to work for them. I leave here a hot, sweaty mess but I feel great, I feel accomplished. My results are because of my hard work, the encouragement and motivation from the trainers and the other people in the class. They don’t let you give up and that’s a good thing, that’s a great place to be when people encourage you to do your best and to finish your workout
